MP3.com sings the blues

MP3.com (Nasdaq: MPPP) is finding there's truth in that blues standard. Being a first mover in the online music distribution business sometimes can lead to lonely times. To offer the service, called MyMP3.com, the company has copied 45,000 or so compact disc recordings onto its servers, which consumers can add to their online catalogs. At least that's what ten major record labels are claiming in a recently filed copyright-infringement lawsuit that accuses MP3.com of unauthorized distribution of its music through its so-called feature.
